I’ve always had a nearly insatiable thirst for adventure; growing up, I was the kid who wanted to go play outside in the snow, climb trees, splash around the neighborhood creek and explore the local woods.
When I went off to school, I started connecting with others my age who were into outdoor recreation and I finally started actually doing many of the activities I had dreamt of for years. I learned how to climb at the local climbing gym and ended up becoming a student manager at the rock wall on campus. I started working at a local gear outfitter and rental shop where I connected with even more awesome people and learned all sorts of things about tents, boats, camping and backpacking gear, and so much more. I eventually became a certified climbing instructor by the Professional Climbing Instructors’ Association, and I made friends who wanted to have awesome outdoorsy adventures too.

Then, when I finished school, I hopped in the car and made the move out to Denver. Since moving out here, I have connected with so many amazing outdoorsy people, pretty much all through Gociety. With these folks, I’ve started skiing, have been introduced to the concepts of night hiking and winter camping, have improved my technical climbing skills and have even connected with a group of people to go rollerblading (yes, rollerblading) with. It’s been an amazing way to just meet great people who have the same love of adventure that I do.
